A registration number is given to each sample received in the laboratory. The identification program follows a systematic and sequential classification (ISO 9000) for sample numbering, with an indication of its nature and the type of determination requested.
The description sheet or work orders contain information on sample identification, location, sample type, submitter, and data received.
